It's an old, yet cozy hotel at the heart of Barra de Navidad. Rooms are clean and unlike similar beach hotels, room don't reek of black mold; which is a plus. The one downside is thay you have to park on the street. Definitely recommend if you're gonna stay for one night only, or if you're on a budget. Pretty good bang for your buck.
It’s a great hotel right at the beach with really friendly staff! All you can ask for. Everything clean and nice. I would come back any time. P.s. It’s not a painting in the picture - you can even see the sunset from the reception.
No regrets undoubtably the best choice and the best place for me half the price of the grand across the bay with better opportunities to shop and meet new people. The surface is great. The front desk is very accommodating very clean no bugs abuse of sunset every night, no matter what room you’re in you have full access to the pool, which is largeas the lobby and front deck close to the ocean. For swimming, I would suggest you go to the right or to the left to find the switch spot with the waves are not crashing down like an elephant on you.
UPDATE March 2024: The restaurant "Bananas" has moved down the street (worth a visit!) and a new restaurant is replacing it at Hotel Barra. Very nice Mexican family style budget hotel on the beach in Barra. Third visit and we still enjoy the location, service, pool and “Bananas” restaurant for breakfast. Not many gringos stay there so brush up on your español. Recommend!
My boyfriend’s family has been coming here for over 20 years and it was my first year going. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and loved the view from our window. The price is very cheap, but the hotel and service is amazing. Everyone was nice and attentive, it’s quiet, and very relaxing. The rooms stay clean and the beds were soft and comfy. I’m so excited to go back next year!
We were at the restaurant and have stayed here many years ago. The view is great for the sunset. The meals and service are very good as well.
I enjoyed my stay, the rooms are so close to the sea that the waves will be the best part of the night. The staff is very attentive, the hotel is within walking distance to the Malecon and interesting places, the restaurant bananas is one of my favorites now.
